Why is camp important?

Summer camp offers unique benefits to kids and youth, such as connecting with nature, learning about themselves, and focusing on social emotional learning and character building. Camp provides life skills not taught in school or at home, fostering friendships, expanding comfort zones, and disconnecting from technology. Plus, camp is fun!

Why Co-operative Camps?

Co-operative camps across Canada have been educating thousands of young people on the co-operative principles of equity, empowerment, democracy, and individual responsibility. These camps aim to develop future co-operative leaders by instilling these values, creating engaged citizens and caring community members.

What does my donation support?

All donations will help support youth participation in the various
co-operative camps across the country. You can choose to donate to your desired province below.

The YES Camp (BC)

Your support of the Co-op Camp Challenge in British Columbia will help send kids to the Youth Excellence Society (YES) camp. The YES offers summer camp programs for teens on beautiful Cowichan Lake in British Columbia. The YES is a charitable, non-profit organization that serves youth in over 90 communities in BC through their various programs. Charitable receipts will be issued by Canada Helps on behalf of The YES for donations made through the Co-op Camp Challenge.

Your support of the Co-op Camp Challenge in Saskatchewan will help send youth to co-op camp programming hosted by the Saskatchewan Co-operative Association. Co-Unity Education Co-operative, a charitable organization that supports co-operative youth education, is accepting donations for Saskatchewan. While donors are asked to express their preferences regarding what province their donation should be directed, final decisions on resource allocation rest with the charity.Charitable receipts will be issued by Canada Helps on behalf of Co-Unity Education Co-operative for donations made through the Co-op Camp Challenge.

Your support of the Co-op Camp Challenge in Ontario will help send youth to attend the Co-operative Young Leaders (CYL) program, a summer camp for teens hosted in both Aylmer and Richmond Hill, Ontario by the Ontario Co-operative Association. Co-Unity Education Co-operative, a charitable organization with a mission to foster co-operative education, is accepting donations for the Co-operative Young Leaders program in Ontario. While donors are asked to express their preferences regarding what province their donation should be directed, final decisions on resource allocation rest with the charity.
